Well the site continues to grow. There have been lots of occasions in past couple weeks where the website has gotten 1200 to 1500 or more visitors. I appreciate this a lot. I'm still working hard adding the site's pages to different web directories for more traffic. Once this is complete I will become an article writing machine. I've been told I'm a good writer so it should be enjoyable. Thanks for reading and I very much appreciate any support your giving me. Thanks again.

New Year and new content!

Well the holidays have come and gone. There were great times had by myself and a certain girlfriend of mine :) But i've been working pretty hard since the year has started. The site went from rank 1 to rank 0 and now we are back up to rank 1. Sometimes google is confusing with their ranking system even to me. But I made changes when I went back to 0 and they've seemed to work because I went back to rank 1 shortly afterwards.

I've been submitting links like crazy to web directories and more. I have a lot more work to do before I will be satisfied that I have enough backlinks.

Also on the page I've recently added a weather page and a news page! They look great and give people more of a reason to visit the site. The next content idea I will be adding will probably be a message board and an email list. (There really are lots of great offers that my affiliates send me that are for online shopping only)

Well keep checking back for updates and I'll let you all know the next time there is more news!

New things for the new year!!

Well I continue to work on the site everyday. I have some new content in store for the new year. I'll be adding a news page, a weather page, a message board and I'm also gonna start an email list. I have all my affiliate companies always emailing me with great deals. So I figured I'd start and email list to let people know about what going on with the site and new deals.

I'm seeing growth in the site with the amounts of hits it's getting. I really appreciate anyone who helps buy buying things from the site or clicking ads here and there.

The site hit google rank one the other day. I didn't realise it even happened till I looked at the traffic then looked into it. The site is running well and everything seems to be coming together. I wanna thank everyone that has ordered anything through the site. Your help is immensely appreciated.

Christmas is right around the corner so I ask everyone to take advantage of the sales a lot of the vendors on the website are having at the moment. You can save a lot of money right now. Trust me.

Well I plan on adding the things to do pages probably in January depending on how well the site is doing. A music page will follow suite after that. The future is looking bright. Thanks again everyone.

Continued Growth..

The site continues to grow slowly but surely. I'm almost to the point now where I can say the pages are decently optomized for search engines. Once this happens I will be link building and hopefully getting more traffic. Link building is trading links with other websites with similiar content in case you might not have known. Some of my pages namely my lawyer and doctor pages have some of the most competitive keywords on the internet. Therefore I have given up on getting traffic directly to them through Search engine optimization. Instead I will be optomizing the pages that can get traffic visiting them such as the sports pages. This task pretty much starts tommorow. Wish me luck and stay tuned to this page. By the way the myspace page has about 3500 friends now and growing everyday. I wanna thank the people on there and also the people on facebook. You help me more than you will probably ever know. Thanks a lot.

Working on making it better..

Well as you can see if you've gone to the site recently, I have been breaking down the pages more to make them more targeted. Google likes this more. What google likes google gets lol. These changes should lead to more traffic in the coming weeks once I actually get everything done. This will overall make the page more successful and allow me to hopefully at some point go off of unemployment. That is the goal of course. Growth is expected

Well I've been re-doing the code on the site all week. That's why I haven't been writing in this blog as often. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to redo the site's code. It's time consuming and I want to work on the marketing of the site more. However I am the only one doing the site so if anything is going to get done I will be the one doing it.

The hype is pretty much overflowing exitement for the fight tonight between Kimbo Slice and Roy Nelson on the Ultimate fighter tonight at 10 pm on Spike tv. Should be an awesome fight. Personally I think Kimbo is gonna knock this guy out. But we'll see what happens. By the way we do have an MMA page on the site in case any of you haven't seen it. I have some cool merchandise on there. DVD's, Tshirts by the ton, hats, gear etc. Check it out. Till next time. I'm out for the night.

Secret Weapon!

I now have a secret weapon in my possesion that should make ranking my site up a lot easier. I can't say what it is. But it will help me out in a little of areas I was unsure about when it comes to search engine optimization. Within a week or 2 I should also have a things to do page up. It'll have things like bars, clubs, museums and the like in and around the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland areas. I'll probably have a restaurant page eventually too. Also in the works is a movie and music page. The world can't go on without music and movies so they will definetly be included in the near future. The search for rank 1 continues.

When I started this site I have to admit, I didn't know much about search engine optimization. I've learned a whole lot and learned that google has a page rank system. Right now the site is rank 0. Rank 1 is obviously the next rung on the ladder. Google ranks sites from 0-10 based on a lot of things I'm not going to go into on here. Mainly because I couldn't write a blog in one night on all the variables google uses. I do know that the key to getting the page rank up is content and links pointing to the site. These are things I'm working on. I'm adding new articles every day to the site to quench google's need for content. And i'm also working on links so hopefully i'll hit rank one soon enough.

I'll be adding a "things to do page" on the site within the next couple days. It'll be like at those rest stops that have all the information about the museums, paint ball, zoo's and other things. I'll also have bars and clubs on the list so hopefully it'll offer people things they can do if they're bored. Have a good night all.

Articles ahoy!

I've decided today to start writing some articles for the site. The first one is about the the growth of mma. It's on the MMA page on the website. Look on the site navigation section on the site for the link.
I'm seeing if I can get some other people to write to articles for more variety.

The UFC Fight night tonight was good. It was great to see Nate Quarry win, bad to see Nate Diaz win. In my opinion of course. I don't like cocky fighters. The Ultimate fighter looks like it's shaping up to be pretty good. Looks like some people are already lining up to try to take out Kimbo Slice. He looks pretty strong in training from what I've seen, so who knows what will happen.

Back to the site, adding content and backlinks will continue till I eventually hit google rank 1. The site is optimized pretty well with decent words. So I think it's just a matter of work and time. It'll get there. Thanks for all the people who have bookmarked the site so far. I hope you'll tell more people about the site and get the word out.

SEO Madness!

I have learned a lot about search engine optimization since i started this site and over the weekend I probably read about 11 articles on the topic. It seems the best way to actually optimize your site is all over the map. So today I sorta took the middle ground. I deleted the tons of keywords that were on the site. I think there was 28 thousand on the first page. Way too excessive! But I didn't know any better at the time. So I cut down so most of the pages have like 4 to 30 keywords. This took me all day. But it was worth it as I think it will help the traffic on the site and get more people to check out the site. This has been a learning process but i'm confident today I made some good decision's and hope they pay off. The raiders are currently beating the chargers 13-10 so i'm happy about that too. Great first game!

Just got done watching the Steelers vs. Titans football game. Talk about a great game. I'm especially happy about the 13-10 result, being as that I have family in Pittsburgh. I'm a Raiders fan first but that's another story.

I've really started to backlink the site today. The way you do this is get links pointing to your site that have to do with your keywords. Granted I have every keyword under the sun, it's not too hard for my site. The site linking me just has to do with sports, online shopping, lawyers, doctors, contractors. Etc etc.

Things are looking up as I had more hits today than i've had ever. 165! 20 of them are probably me but that's beside the point. Progress is being made and I would like to thank all my friends on face book, all my friends on myspace, my family and friends for being very supportive in this endeavor. And I thank you for reading this blog.

The Weekend is getting closer!

And the weekends are always good as everyone knows. Well I had some technical difficulties last night and lost my internet basically all night. I was a little worried when I woke up this morning that getting it back would be a chore. Fortunetly for me and the site, it wasn't. After a call to Verizon my internet is back up and good as new.

Up until like a week ago or so I never realised how important links were to really drive traffic to your website. I'm signed up for a program with www.linkmarket.net At first I was like, well I guess this will help people find the site. If they feel like digging through tons of links on another site. But what this actually does is help you more than you can probably realise. Google determines page rank and listings by how many links are pointed to your site. So any link to your site is a good one in my opinion. That's not to say ignore sites that actually have to do with the content of your website. Finding those first should actually be a priority. So come Friday (once my check clears) I'll probably be signing up with link share as a full member so I can do unlimited link exhchanges per day. Pretty exciting stuff.

The quest for getting people to check out the site continues. Today I checked on the treasure hunt (it's a local classifieds type newspaper) and the ad I put in there is on page 53! I'm pretty excited about it. I'm trying to also use link exchanges to increase popularity of the site on google. You have to basically have links to your site on other sites if you wanna be ranked higher on google and get more traffic. It's confusing I know. That's why there's still lots of work to be done. And tommorow is another day.

Started the blog

Well it's Monday night and I figured i'd finally start the SMB Information Network website blog. I will be keeping this blog to let people know about updates to the site along with ather things. Today I've been primarily working on networking and marketing the site. I submitted the site to a web directory and obviously also created this blog. We also have a myspace page that i'm working on too. Lots of work to do. Well that's all for today. I'll write again tommorow.
